What is the Vagus Nerve’s Role in Digestion?
The Vagus Nerve is the primary nerve of our parasympathetic nervous system. Digestion, being a parasympathetic process, is controlled by the Vagus Nerve. Everything from swallowing to elimination is controlled by the vagus nerve. Stomach acid secretion, enzyme secretion, gastric emptying, gallbladder function, intestinal motility, all of these necessary functions involve the vagus nerve.
You can imagine it like the internal “wiring” that sends signals from the brain throughout the G.I. Tract…and beyond! The vagus does much more than just control digestive function, it also controls other parasympathetic processes as well, such as controlling heart rate, tear production of the eyes and inflammatory balance.
The Vagus Nerve Aids Digestion, Calms Anxiousness and Controls Inflammation!
All of the products offered by TJ Nutrition are designed to support the Vagus Nerve and Parasympathetic functions of the body. I am currently using ParasymPlus and noticed a very obvious calming effect on the first day, followed by improvements in mood, better focus, better memory, less inflammation, regular bowel movements and my pupils which used to be 2 different sizes are now the same size. I know that seems funny, but there is a vagus nerve component to that and I can see that it’s helping! The company says “No Other Product Does What ParasymPlus does” and I believe that to be true. This is a unique product and I am really excited to have this in my tool kit!!!
I have been seeing good results with clients as well! I’ve been recommending these products for:
- Constipation
- Reflux
- Gastroparesis
- Colitis
- Hypochlorhydria ( Soothing Digestive Aid is great for that!)
- Anxiety
- Problems with swallowing
- Brain Fog & Poor Cognition
- And more…
