Because it’s the things you do EVERYDAY that have the biggest impact on your health!
We have all been our own nutritional consultants at one point or another in our lives. If you’ve ever said “I really need to lose this weight before “bikini season” or “I really need to eat more veggies or drink more water”. Then…you’ve been your own nutritional consultant.
If you were unsuccessful in your nutritional goals it probably wasn’t due to lack of effort or desire but more likely because you didn’t have a good solid information base and a realistic, sustainable plan.
The confusion lies in the overwhelming amount of information (and misinformation) flooding the media about what’s healthy and what’s not. It is really hard to know what to do! The truth is that everyBODY is different and what may be healthy for one person might be not so healthy for another. And what might have been healthy for you ten years ago, might not be so healthy for you today. There is an old adage that says “One man’s food is another man’s poison”. That couldn’t be closer to the truth!
My function as your Nutritional Therapist is to help you find out what is healthy for YOU and customize a plan specific to your needs as a unique “bio individual”.
Using an investigational, “Wholistic” approach, we’ll work together to connect the dots that form the unique picture of “Your” health.
This program is centered around the philosophy that making healthy adjustments at the roots, through good nutrition and lifestyle habits will cause a positive domino effect throughout your body, allowing healing and vibrancy to take place. Doesn’t that sound like a good idea?
Nutrition may not be the whole picture but it certainly is a huge piece of the puzzle in terms of good health. You may have health issues that are completely beyond my scope of practice. In those cases you will need to work with a qualified healthcare professional. Even so, nutritional therapy can play a strong supporting role as an adjunct to the treatment provided to you by your doctor or other health care practitioners. You’ve got to eat, Right?
Because Our Salvation is in Education
Educated decisions are our armor against the things that we cannot change.
Our planet is becoming more and more polluted every second. Our air. Our Water. Our Food. Our Minds…Are all being inundated with toxicity at every corner. None of us are immune to this and all of us are affected.
The health decisions we make today will have an effect not only on us and our children but our children’s children as well!
Disease and the chronic health issues that we see everyday have somehow been accepted as part life.
We attribute these problems to old age or unlucky genetics but the majority of these problems are a direct result of what is going on in the world around us and what we are doing in our daily lives. Our salvation is in education. We cannot control everything in our environment but we can control what we do at home and what we eat.
Because your Body is Talking to You
Your body will tell you what it needs. You just need to open the lines of communication.
Ultimately the goal is to help you reconnect with your body so you can access the innate intelligence that has been gifted to you. This is more than knowledge. It’s a way of being.
Did you ever wonder how a dog knows to eat grass when he doesn’t feel well? That’s innate wisdom. Nobody had to teach him that. We have that innate intelligence too! We have just strayed away from listening to what our bodies are asking for and put our health in the hands of someone else. With a little nurturing we can reconnect with our natural instincts.
That natural communication between people, their bodies and their food is often impeded from day one.
This disconnect is commonly set in motion as early as birth. It’s becoming more common that cesarean sections are scheduled out of convenience to fit into the Dr’s schedule. Then straight out of the shoot many babies are given a bottle of denatured and synthetically fortified formula which their tummies are not equipped to digest. Right from the start natural processes are disturbed and painful digestion and stress become a way of life.
Because Healing Does Not Mean Getting Comfortable with Your Pain!
Our bodies have an amazing capacity to heal if we provide ourselves with the proper raw materials. Malfunction of the body is not Mother Nature making mistakes. The signs and symptoms you may experience are as a result of the wisdom of Mother Nature working extra hard to keep you going despite unfavorable conditions. She will adapt to the circumstances even if it means rerouting and reprioritizing normal body function. This is sub-optimal performance and leads to what we call disease. She will make you uncomfortable because that’s her signal telling you that something is wrong.
In order to heal you must identify the root cause of your symptoms and change THAT in order for your body to resume normal function.
Drugs that target symptoms don’t resolve the underlying issue and often come with a long list of side effects. How do you know if this drug is potentially adding to the source of your problem? Many times they do just that!
Drugs do have their use and in some cases are necessary but if there was a chance that you could remove the need for them, would you not want to try??
Because Prevention is the Best Way to Beat Disease!
Remember that prevention is the best way to beat disease. Even if you feel like you’re pretty healthy it’s a good idea to check in with yourself periodically and a Nutritional and/or lifestyle “tune-up” is a good way to do that.
Your health is priceless! You have this one body. That body has to get you through the rest of your life.
What you do for yourself today will affect the quality of your future!
Would you not want to do things that are “health building” to preserve your body and improve your quality of life? Not just for today but also as you age.
Because Loving yourself is loving them too!
Your health also influences the future of your loved ones. Our children tend to mimic our actions. Do you want to be a good example to your children, family and friends? Do you want them to enjoy the time they have with you in this life? Or do you want to be a liability to them?
If you take care of yourself now it’s less likely they will have the burden of taking care of you later!
Because True Healing Takes Care and Patience
When I was sick I searched and searched for someone who could provide me with this type of care.
I knew enough to know that it was complicated and if I was going to get better I needed to find someone who knew what all of these pieces meant and how to put them back together.
No “Drive-Through Doctor” in an 8 minute visit or a bottle of magic pills was going solve this mystery!
I knew in my heart that I needed someone who genuinely cared and was willing to take my hand and walk with me through this process.
That is what I’m offering to you!
